Walking in my liberty & authority in Christ 2. We overcome the accuser by blood of the Lamb, the word of our Testimony, Sunday 8th Sept 2019 The 3 Kinds of Prayer that Jesus taught. Coming before God as …Father … Luke 11 Coming to God as …. Friend on behalf of another … Luke 11 And coming before God as Judge in the Courts of Heaven. Luke 18 Paul taught that we have 3 enemies: - The flesh (our old unrenewed mind will contest God’s Word, and try to stop us) - The world system which tries to squeeze us into its mould. - And the devil… brings accusation against us Jesus Christ has given us authority over all the power of the enemy Luke 10:19 …I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Most teaching on the devil, and our authority over him is found in the New Covenant Ephesians 4:2 KJ …neither give place to the devil… I want us to look at a KEY passage of Scripture that teaches us how to live an overcoming life… Revelation 12:7-9 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:10-12 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” 1. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb We need to know what the Blood of Lamb has done for us. The blood of the Lamb is speaking for us … Hebrews 12:22-24 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. i. to God the Judge of all … ii. to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant … iii. and to the blood … that speaks better things … “The blood that speaks better things than Abel” (the Old Testament Covenants) Hebrews 12:25 … to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. 25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven 2 The book of Hebrews is comparing Moses ministry and God’s Covenant people who refused to believe with Jesus and the Christian believers. … Hebrews 2:1-3 we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, What is the blood of Christ SPEAKING … a. The BLOOD is saying – Christ has disarmed the principalities and powers ranged against you Colossians 2:15 Ampl God disarmed the principalities and powers (exousias) that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in the cross. “disarmed” – apekdýomai – "completely strip off," thoroughly renounce. The double prefixes (apo, ek) strongly emphasize the depth of the renouncing. This "renunciation (stripping right off) is very emphatic" b. The blood of the Lamb is SPEAKING concerning sin Colossians 2:14 Ampl. Having cancelled and blotted out, wiped away the handwriting of the note with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us …. This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross. c. The blood speaks and declares you are incorruptible seed a new creation 1 Pete 1:23 …having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever… 2 Corinthians 5:17 …if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. d. The blood of Christ SPEAKS and is saying that we are qualified to share in the inheritance Colossians 1:12 NIV …giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light 2. They overcame him … by the Word of their testimony Revelation 12:10b-11 … for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. “testimony” – marturia – “witness, evidence given, report in a legal sense, testimony before a judge” - God is waiting for the word of our TESTIMONY: - God is waiting for our witness, give evidence, report in a legal sense, give our testimony before a judge” We overcome him, but the blood of the Lamb that is speaking, by the word of OUR TESTIMONY … 3. They did not love their lives to the death Revelation 12:10b-11 … for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. It’s time to get serious with God and clean our lives up. We are living sanctified lives; we put of the old life with it’s lust … John 14:30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.
