What we Believe

About the Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s written Word to mankind, divinely inspired by God and recorded by godly men under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is absolute truth without any mixture of error and is therefore the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and behaviour.

About God

We believe there is one God, Creator and Ruler of the universe who exists eternally as three distinguishable Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal, each fully God yet each personally distinct from the Other.

About Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the Cross. After three days He rose from the dead to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He returned to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father and will return to earth to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords.

About the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also indwells every Christian from the moment of salvation. Through the additional Pentecostal experience the believer is filled with supernatural power to be a witness to the truth of the Gospel. Believers need to stay filled with the Holy Spirit, thus being empowered for everyday living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance to do what is right. The Christian needs to live daily under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

About Human Beings

We believe that originally people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him. However, through disobedience the whole human race became separated from God and His purposes for their lives. Although every person has potential to do good, all people are marred with a nature called ‘sin’ that results in eternal death.

About Eternity

We believe people were created to exist forever. Each individual will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God results in eternal death (Hell). To be eternally in union with God results in eternal life (Heaven). Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

About Salvation

We believe salvation is God’s free gift to people, but they must accept it. People cannot make up for ‘sin’ by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can people be saved from sin’s penalty. When a person turns from a self-ruled life and in faith turn to Christ, they are saved. Eternal life begins the moment a person receives Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord of their life.

About the Church

We believe there is one true universal church, made up of all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. These believers gather together in local assemblies for worship and prayer, fellowship, teaching of the Word of God, service and the observance of water baptism and communion. The local Church, under the watch and care of the five-fold ministry gifts and other leaders works together in love and unity to fulfil the Great Commission thus glorifying Jesus Christ.

About Miracles and Divine Healing

We believe in the empowering of every believer to work miracles by the present-day operation of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the healing of the physical body by God’s power as practiced in the early church.

About the Devil

We believe in the existence of the devil and his past and present operation to deceive people. We believe in his past defeat through Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on the Cross, and his future eternal judgement in the Lake of Fire together with his angels. The believer has victory over Satan through the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
